Forests in Malaysia are said to be the oldest in the world. Major forest types in Malaysia are lowland dipterocarp forest, hill dipterocarp forest, upper hill dipterocarp forest, oak-laurel forest, montane ericaceous forest, peat swamp forest, and mangrove forest. One way to preserve these forest is by implementing the forest reserve system.

District and Land Office of Kuala Selangor have organised trees planting event at Raja Musa Bestari Jaya to preserve the forest reserve on 26 September 2018. LBS Foundation sponsored 500 trees and equipment for the trees planting event that includes more than 200 people from the government agency, colleges and schools from around Kuala Selangor participated in the activity.
