LBS Foundation contributed lightweight wheelchairs to the Malaysian Association Help for the Poor Terminally Ill. The contribution will be distributed to the patients that struggling with their financial and health issue that is identified by the organisation.

Forests in Malaysia are said to be the oldest in the world. Major forest types in Malaysia are lowland dipterocarp forest, hill dipterocarp forest, upper hill dipterocarp forest, oak-laurel forest, montane ericaceous forest, peat swamp forest, and mangrove forest. One way to preserve these forest is by implementing the forest reserve system.

District and Land Office of Kuala Selangor have organised trees planting event at Raja Musa Bestari Jaya to preserve the forest reserve on 26 September 2018. LBS Foundation sponsored 500 trees and equipment for the trees planting event that includes more than 200 people from the government agency, colleges and schools from around Kuala Selangor participated in the activity.

Beach Cleanup 2018

In conjunction of the International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day, LBS Foundation have contributed to the ‘Beach Clean Up 2018’ event that was organised by Metrics Global and Reef Check Malaysia. The aim for the event is to educate the younger generation about the importance of pollution and marine conservation. More than 80 volunteers from LBS Foundation participated in the cleaning activity at Pantai Morib, Selangor. Aside from Pantai Morib, the beach clean up also held in two other different locations; Pantai Remis and Pantai Minyak Beku, Johor.

Klinik Persediaan UPSR LBS Foundation

LBS Foundation collaborated with Majlis Daerah Kuala Selangor and Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Kuala Selangor in organising 2 day preparatory workshop for UPSR students from SK Sultan Abdul Aziz and SK Pasangan,KampungKuantan. The objectives of the workshop is to help the students to prepare for the upcoming UPSR exam and to boost their confident. Aside from the academic aspect, the students also exposed to the knowledge on firefly habitat conservation at the Kampung Kuantan Fireflies Park.

Malaysia Charity Golf Event

LBSFoundation participated in the Lung Foundation Charity Golf Tournament. It was held in Tropicana Golf and Country Resort on 22nd July 2018. The tournamentis an opening for LBS Foundation to get involved in making difference in the quality of life for those touched by the respiratory diseases. Through funds raised, Lung Foundation will be able to purchase more respiratory support equipment such as oxygen concentrators, oxygen cylinders, portable ventilators and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) devices.

LBSFoundation has donated an amount of RM5000 to this charity golf tournament.

An Evening of Music IX

The Catholic High School Band of PetalingJaya produced a dazzling show like no other at its recent concert, ‘An Evening of Music: IX’. It attracted over 1,150 music lovers from all ages and walks of life. The concert raisedmore than RM115,000 to fund the Catholic High School Band’s facilities in the hope of nurturing more budding musicians.

This year, the main sponsor of the concert was LBS Foundation. Speaking on the relevance of music in schools, LBS Foundation Board of Trustees and Chairman of the Board of Governors, Tan Sri Lim Hock San said, “We believe education is the key to unlocking one’s potential. This is why education is one of the main pillars we are championing through the LBS Foundation. We are proud to support the Catholic High School Band as we believe music plays an important role in keeping students engaged, instilling discipline, giving students a sense of belonging and achievement.”

Kiwanis Motor Treasure Hunt

This year, LBS Bina Group Berhad(LBS) and MGB Berhad(MGB) collectively pledged RM30,000 in support of the Kiwanis Treasure Hunt 2018 and its cause. As a long-term supporter of the annual event since 2007, LBS believes the importance of corporations as responsible social citizens, stepping forward to help the communities who are in need. The theme of this year’s hunt was ‘Try a Little Kindness’, was charted from Kuala Lumpur to Melaka from 26 to 27 May 2018.

The Star Step Up and NiE

Step Up, The Star’s NiE (Newspaper-in-Education), is a 24-page bilingual education pullout with two versions, one with Bahasa Malaysia translation of English words and the other with Chinese translation for primary school pupils from Years 4-6. It consists of interesting activities and provides a platform for students to submit their exercise for discussion.

The full-coloursyllabus-based pullout is approved by the Ministry of Education (MoE) Malaysia and is published twice a month.

Over 80 schools in Malaysia will be receiving the pullout for the year 2018. Group Managing Director of LBS Bina Group Berhadand Trustees for LBS Foundation, Tan Sri Lim Hock San, presented the mock chequeto Star Media Group Editor-In-Chief, Datuk Leanne Goh during a ceremony that was held at SRJK (C) TunTan Siew Sin on 4 April 2018.
